Suttle-Straus Receives FSC Certification
It’s Easy Being Green at Suttle-Straus -- Thanks To Its New Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification
Suttle-Straus, one of southern Wisconsin’s leading providers of fullservice
communications solutions, has continued its long-time commitment
to the environment by announcing its certification (SW-COC-
002503) from SmartWood to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC),
recognizing the company’s use of paper from responsibly managed
forests.
“At Suttle-Straus, we’ve always been concerned about the environment,
and we’re glad that important environmental issues, such as
those involving the world’s forests, are finally receiving the broad attention
they deserve -- so we are very pleased to have received this
official FSC Certification,” said John Berthelsen, president and CEO of
Suttle-Straus.
The FSC is a global organization that has promoted responsible forestry
since 1993 through standards that protect forests and their vital
role in the ecosystem while allowing loggers and paper-related businesses
to survive as well. FSC Certification means that paper products
have passed through an unbroken “chain of custody” from responsibly
managed forests through FSC-Certified pulp manufacturers, paper
manufacturers, paper merchants and printers.
“Many of our customers share our deep concern about the environment
and want to make sure that their printed materials are produced
using paper created through responsible forest management. The FSC
‘checkmark tree’ logo which we can now proudly display and reproduce
will be a visible sign of our ongoing commitment in that area,”
Berthelsen said.
Suttle-Straus is a communications solutions provider serving the upper Midwest
market. Services provided by the company include one through six color sheetfed
