Making Branding Bright with Lighted Signage

Written by Maeghan Nicholson | Dec 13, 2024

Ready to brighten up your brand? Eyes are naturally attracted to lights, so a lighted sign will gain more attention than a non-lit sign of the same size. Custom lit signs offer increased visibility regardless of the time of day or light sources in the room.

Lighted signage can make a big impact on a feature wall for a retail space, creating a focal point in a room. This front-lit sign has translucent acrylic which allows light to shine brightly through. Lightning signage makes sense if you feature premium or high-tech products.

Lit signage is a grand way to showcase your professional brand as clients walk in your doors. It gives a sense of prestige, and contour cuts can help messages pop! This reception sign features brushed aluminum styrene mounted to layers of PVC to add a little drama with depth from the spotlight lighting above and the shadows it creates.

Conversely, a lobby sign with dimensional lettering backlit by LEDs is a bright and friendly way to welcome visitors to the office. This kind of halo lighting around the edges makes it appear as if the letters are floating off the wall.

High-end luxury brands know how to make an impression. Custom built lightboxes can really add a wow factor to a retail showroom. This lightbox for kitchen appliances was constructed using black acrylic with the logos pushed through. LED lights are enclosed inside the metal-clad PVC box.

Backlit photo displays can bring light to a dark space. Silicone-edged fabric graphics (SEGs) like these shown are easy to swap out and replace as needed! Each photograph shown here can be easily pulled down and a new one put in without professional help.

Lit signage can also just be for fun or aesthetics. This backlit guitar display consists of acrylic and PVC plastic, made in three pieces consisting of the body, neck and tuning keys. Rope lighting was placed around the perimeter behind the entire guitar to create a neon-like effect without the need for glass or neon gas. Measuring 10-feet long and 3-feet tall, this definitely makes an impression.

Lighting increases the cost and complexity of your display and signage project. You'll need a nearby power source, so electrical work and some engineering to "hide the wires" may be necessary. It's good to discuss the pros and cons of lighted signage upfront to determine if it is right for you.
