John Berthelsen, President

John began his career in printing when he took a graphic arts class in junior high. Before he was 17 he had started his first printing company in Albert Lea, Minnesota. During his career he has worked in all areas of production from layout through bindery as well as administrative functions including sales, estimating and job planning. He has lead the successful growth of Suttle-Straus from six employees in 1979 to over 200 in 2012. He has been inducted into the printing industry Hall of Fame and received numerous awards for his achievements.

Ted Straus, Executive Vice-President / COO

Ted is the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Suttle-Straus, Inc. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As Executive Vice-President, Ted is responsible for the overall operations of the company and enhancing the culture of continuous improvement. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, technology-based implementations, process improvement, and operations management. He is the fourth generation of the Straus family to be part of the organization. Ted is well known for his ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement to achieve superior business results.

Pat Bollant, Vice-President / CFO

Pat graduated from Lakeland College in Madison and initially pursued a career in public accounting. He obtained his CPA and CMA certifications and eventually decided that he would enjoy working in the private sector. So, he made a move into companies that were in the manufacturing and distribution industries. He has 25+ years of experience and has worked for publicly and privately held companies. He worked his way up from a staff accountant to controller and then CFO level positions. Pat joined the Suttle-Straus teamĀ in 2007 as our Vice-President-CFO and provides a strong financial expertise to the team.

Susan Pschorr, Director of Human Resources

Susan brings a wide ranging background of life experiences to her role in human resources including fourteen years at WISC-TV as an electronic graphics operator and producer/director, and five years in finance and HR at a biotech company. She has BS and MBA degrees from the UW-Madison and participates in professional organizations such as SHRM. She enjoys the communication and interaction of employee relations and the process of always finding ways to improve our company.

Ted Norman, Vice-President of Manufacturing

Ted got his start in printing as a young man out of high school over 30 years ago. He has learned production operations from the ground up and knows press and bindery like no other. He takes a great deal of pride in the work that he does and he trains his people to do the same. Through his career he came up through the ranks from operator to supervisor, manager and is currently our VP of Manufacturing. He has enhanced and expanded on our culture of continuous improvement and is spreading it throughout our organization.

Jim Twieg, Director of Technology

Jim has been with the company since 1999, working in a wide variety of technology positions from technician to analyst to manager. He has a broad understanding of the company systems and programs due to his range of operational experience over his time with the organization. He is focused on the continued enhancement of our technology systems and workflow.
