Suttle-Straus is excited to be the recipient of 13 ADDY Awards from the Madison chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). This the 17th year in a row that the Creative team at Suttle-Straus has been recognized.
The ADDY Awards recognizes creative excellence across the country though a three-tier competition that begins with local AAF chapters. It has become the world’s largest advertising competition, with only the best of the best advancing to the national level.
This year Suttle-Straus was also the Creative and Print Sponsor, designing all the print and digital marketing assets for the event.
The Madison chapter of AAF held their awards ceremony the evening of Saturday, February 17, 2024. Suttle-Straus had team members in attendance to receive the awards, which were given either gold, silver or bronze designations.
The following projects won an ADDY:
Gold: AAF Awards Invite
This invite for the 2023 AAF-Madison American Advertising Awards event featured a unique accordion folded invite with printed vellum envelope and typography designed with a line distorter script tool in Adobe.
Silver: Legislative Agenda Brochure - Judge's Choice!
This brochure for Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce's legislative agenda used an accordion fold at staggered angles to create a circular final format. This entry was also recognized with a "Judge's Choice" award at the event.
Gold: Backpack Event Invite With Pockets
This backpack shaped self-mailing invite for our 2023 Paper Show event included two perfed pockets with event information tucked inside.
Silver: Powerwash Interactive Mailer
This sliding blind reveal mailer for Rolling Suds power washing showed how a school playground can go from dirty to clean!
Gold: Origami New Year's Card
This modified miura fold created a fun way to count down into the new year!
Silver: Centennial Campaign Final Report
This non-profit impact report featured stepped pages in a stitched booklet to organize the information into sections. Slightly altering where the pages are folded created faux tabs so a reader can jump to the section they are most interested in.
Brass: Scented Ink Direct Mail Campaign
This direct mailer encouraging non-profits to "perk up" their direct mail campaigns included a coffee-scented coating that you can scratch and sniff. It qualified for a postage discount under the 2023 Tactile and Sensory promotion.
Gold: Recycled Paper Roll Photo Op
We took the ends of paper rolls to create a sustainable photo op background for a paper-themed event.
Silver: Fundraising Brochure
The annual appeal campaign for the Diocese of Fargo used metallic ink and a unique stepped fold in their brochure to tell their donor story.
Brass: Fundraising Brochure
This fundraising annual appeal for the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe featured gloss coatings and metallic ink to match the beauty of its shrine benefactor.
Gold: Soda Can Party Invitation
A party invitation in the form of a can label, which was then placed inside a branded promotional koozie for personal delivery.
Silver: Event CamPaign
This campaign for a company holiday party included a hand-drawn illustration of our CEO, Ted Straus!
Brass: Interactive Guided Path Event Guide
This event program included a gate-fold map in the center that provided a walking tour path. The tour stops included areas to be stamped when completed.
