Suttle-Straus was highlighted on foldfactory.com’s Super Cool Fold of the Week video directed to professional designers. The website’s Chief Folding Fanatic, Trish Witkowski, is known for her 60-second Fold of the Week video series that is emailed to subscribers and featured on the website. The piece earning recognition was a self-promotion black box with an enclosed origami style fold, sometimes referred to as a “fortune teller” or “cootie catcher.”

ADDY Awards Show

The American Advertising Federation – Madison hosted the 2013 ADDY Awards Show on Friday, February 15th at Union South in downtown Madison. Beginning in 2012 the organization combined the Madison and Milwaukee Awards. The ADDYs recognizes and celebrates creative advertising talent. The awards continue to attract the best creative work with over 100 more submissions than 2012.

The Suttle-Straus creative team once again showed their creative prowess receiving three Silver ADDY Awards for Suttle-Straus marketing initiatives. The exceptional creative talent, experience and dedication to graphic design were demonstrated in the Suttle-Straus Wrapping Paper.

Is Print Dead?

Not on your ink-stained life, but with the digital revolution, change will be the industry’s constant companion.

To hear industry critics in 2009, especially after the Rocky Mountain News folded, the economy was about to commit a mass murder of the newspaper industry, and eventually print itself.

When the dust settled, very few newspapers went out of business, and those that did were in two-newspaper towns that could only support one. Suttle-Straus of Waunakee received two 2012 Premier Print Awards for outstanding achievement in the production of books and cross media promotion.

The graphic arts industry’s largest and most prestigious international printing competition, the Premier Print Awards recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of outstanding print communications. Suttle-Straus won a Best of Category “Benny” for their entries Middleton High School 2011 Yearbook and for its own Giving Thanks 2011 Holiday Campaign.

The Premier Print Awards are the printing industry’s oldest and largest worldwide graphic arts competition, hosted by Printing Industries of America. In its 63rd year, the annual contest recognizes those responsible for the creation and production of superior print communications.
